Chamber Music Festival Hohenstaufen

29 September - 1 October 2006

This year, Hohenstaufen, Stuttgart, is host to a new chamber music festival. Created and artistically directed by Gwendolyn Masin and Rahel Maria Rilling, this occasion will bring together both internationally renowned artists and rising stars.

Hailing from all corners of the globe, the musicians will arrive in Hohenstaufen for four days of intensive preparation prior to the festival. Five concerts will take place in two unique venues over three days. The focus of the performances will be on string chamber music, including works by Brahms, Tchaikowsky, Mozart, Ravel, Schubert, Beethoven, Kodály, Dvořák, Enesco and Mendelssohn.

Set in the lush surroundings of some of the most picturesque natural beauty in the Swabian Jura, the festival promises to be a delight for all the senses. In addition, with Hohenstaufen celebrating its 800th anniversary, it is the perfect scene for the premiere of such an inspiring musical event.
