GAIA Masters

6 - 8 May 2010

GAIA is devoted to the continuation of outstanding string-teaching. Thus, 2010 sees the inaugural installment of the GAIA Masterclasses. Its illustrious faculty comprises Professors Frans Helmerson, Vladimir Mendelssohn and Igor Ozim, as well as Ilya Hoffman, Wonji Kim and Gavriel Lipkind.

The structure of the Masterclasses is conceived so as to dedicate one day per instrument, each instrument simultaneously being taught by two masters in different halls of Bellerive Castle, seat of the Musikschule Thun. This allows the public to move between diverse approaches to playing, and students to benefit from not one, but two internationally-renowned pedagogues.

VIOLONCELLO, 6 May 2010, 10am to 2pm: Frans Helmerson & Gavriel Lipkind

VIOLIN, 7 May 2010, 10am to 2pm: Igor Ozim & Wonji Kim

VIOLA, 8 May 2010, 10am to 2pm: Vladimir Mendelssohn & Ilya Hoffman

The Masterclasses are open to the public.
