Aline Saniter – Viola

Aline Saniter, born in 1978, studied viola at the Robert-Schumann College in Düsseldorf with Prof. Jürgen Kussmaul.

From 2000 until 2004 she was solo violist in the Gustav-Mahler youth orchestra and performed concerts conducted by Claudio Abbado, Seiji Ozawa, Pierre Boulez, Mariss Jansons and Franz Welser-Möst.

1st prize at the “International Competition for young violists” in Slovenia, the sponsorship prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition in Berlin as well as a prize in a competition held by the German Viola Society in Trossingen are among her accomplishments.

Aline Saniter received a stipend for the Sarasota Music Festival in Florida, USA, and for the Gustav Mahler Academy in Bolzano, Italy.

Furthermore she has been recipient of a stipend from the Villa Musica Foundation since February 2003.

In addition to her responsibilities as a violist in the NDR Symphony Orchestra (Hamburg, Germany), of which she has been a member since August 2004, Aline Saniter also performs as a soloist and chamber musician in Germany and worldwide.
