Barbara Gruszczynska – Violin![]() Barbara Gruszczynska was born in Bydgoszcz, Poland in 1978. She received her first violin lesson at the age of six. After her studies at the Music Conservatory in Bydgoszcz, she completed her course of study at the Dresden University of Music “Carl Maria von Weber” under Professor Heinz Rudolf and Jörg Fassmann. She was a member of the Austrian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. She gained additional orchestral experience in the Sächsische Staatskapelle (Saxon State Band) Dresden and the Dresden Philharmonic. She was a fellow of the Gustav Mahler Academy in Bolzano (Italy) and participated in various masterclasses held by Antje Weithaas, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Andrzej Grudzien and Antonello Manacorda. Barbara Gruszczynska is the winner of several chamber music competitions in Poland and has taught a masterclass in Havana, Cuba. Solo and chamber music concerts have led her to Poland, France, Israel, Cuba and Lebanon. Since August 2005 Barbara has been a member of the first violin section in the Northern Germany Broadcast (NDR) Symphony Orchestra in Hamburg. |
