Grazioso Chamber Orchestra of the National Hungarian Philharmonic

The Grazioso Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2007, assembled from the foremost members of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra. Its founder is violinist Mária Marcella Detvay, its concertmaster is Ferenc Bangó. The position of honorary artistic director is held by pianist Zoltán Kocsis, chief musical director of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, and that of guest conductor is held by Gergely Madaras.

Despite of its relatively short existence, the Grazioso Chamber Orchestra is placed in the primary echelons of Hungary’s music life. The orchestra has performed numerous concerts with Zoltán Kocsis, as well as with Sergei Nakariakov, Tamás Érdi, Zoltán Peskó, Attila Falvay and János Kovács.

Support and encouragement of young artists, educational outreach programmes, as well as the popularisation of chamber music are amongst the Grazioso Chamber Orchestra’s most important objectives.
Aside from performing in large concert halls, the orchestra is highly successful in its bid to diffuse and propagate musical knowledge.
