Roman Zaslavsky – Piano![]() Photo: Marco Borggreve Roman Zaslavky’s exceptional musical talent already became manifest in his early years – numerous awards dot the path of this young pianist. Aged 18 he already won at 1st prize at the National Piano Competition of Russia. Furthermore, Mr Zaslavsky is a prizewinner of renowned international piano and chamber music competitions. In 1998 he won the 2nd prize at the “3rd Hamamatsu Academy International Piano Competition” in Japan, the 3rd prize at the “Trio di Trieste” International Chamber Music Competition in Italy and the 3rd prize at the “Vittorio Gui” International Chamber Music Competition in Florence. His greatest success however was in 2000 when he became the only winner of the “Vendome Prize” International Piano Competition in Cologne and was awarded the prestigious “Primer Grand Premio” at the “Jose Iturbi” International Piano Competition in Valencia. Despite his youth, Mr Zaslavky has gained a reputation as a musician with a sharp intellect and passionate temperament. He is recognised by international audiences and critics alike as one of the next generation’s foremost emerging artists. Mr Zaslavsky’s highlights in 09/10 include performances with Mikhail Jurowski in Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, and with the Budapest Radio Symphony Orchestra under Laszlo Kovacs at the “Ediecigiornate di Brescia” festival in Brescia, Italy; in Saarbrücken, Germany with the State Symphony Orchestra of Saarland as well as concerts with the Brussels Philharmonic. An avid performer of chamber music, Mr Zaslavsky will perform at the Zeist Music Days festival in Holland and the Gaia Festival in Switzerland, give solo recitals in the Netherlands and Israel, and duo recitals with cellist Gavriel Lipkind in the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Frankfurt’s Hessischer Rundfunk, and on tour in Japan. |
